Cursed Anime Characters With Or Without Powers
7. Miroku / Inuyasha
The main villain of Inuyasha, Naraku, curses Miroku’s grandfather with a wind tunnel in his hand.
The wind tunnel is a powerful weapon, but it also poses an extreme danger to the user.
The void operates like a miniature black hole, sucking in and shredding enemies with ease.
However, there’s a high chance the user will be sucked in, too—that’s exactly what happened to Miroku’s father.
The curse is passed down to the oldest male child in each generation of Miroku’s family, which is why he’s so gung-ho about having children.
He wants to carry on the family mission to defeat Naraku, plus he wants to free himself of the curse.
The only thing that can break the curse for good is killing Naraku.
6. Guts / Berserk
When Griffin betrays the Band of the Hawk, he leaves Guts, and Casca, with something called a Brand of Sacrifice.
This brand is essentially a curse that attracts demonic forces.
Those with the brand can’t stay in one place for too long or the area will become overrun with demons.
They have to fight in a never-ending battle with demons of all kinds and they can never know peace.
Even worse, the brand causes extreme pain and even bleeds when demons and other evil spirits appear.
5. Memento Mori / Fairy Tail
In the world of Fairy Tail, curses operate similarly to magic, but with a negative human emotions that intends to cause harm.
Memento Mori is one of the most chilling examples of the universe’s curses.
The curse first emits a purple mist that paralyzes the chosen target.
After that, it erases the target from existence.
This means they’re not alive, but they’re not dead either.
They just aren’t. The existential implications of that are frightening to process.
