7. Kamina Falls Gurren Lagann
“Can’t a guy get a little sleep around here?”
Kamina’s death in Gurren Lagann is one of the most emotional moments i have ever seen in all of anime.
Kamina was an inspirational figure, the unequivocal leader of team Dai-Gurren – and as much as fans wished it, the lovable protagonist wasn’t coming back.
Simon and Kamina were an unstoppable team to this point.
And while the tragic sacrifice did lead to a much-needed victory, it still left a hole in the hearts of those who witnessed this tragic scene.
8. Guts Vs Zodd Berserk
“It’s a monster…”
Guts, the anime series’s main protagonist, had faced so many badass, horror, and gore moments along his adventure, and now he enter the corridor to see his men slain and the Immortal Zodd at the center of the bodies, sending Guts into a fear-filled charge at the huge beast.
Zodd was the strongest enemy swordsman for Guts.
However, Guts goes for an all-out attack that breaks Zodd’s sword and mortally wounds him.
The scene shows an ordinary soldier standing against a true monster.
It’s this very scene that changes the show’s arc and theme to something much more grotesque and sinister, sending Guts down a dark road he can never deviate from as long as he draws breath.
What makes this so special is that audiences want Guts to travel down this path, since he is, perhaps, the only one who can succeed.
9. Eren’s Mom Gets Eaten Attack On Titan
“My house is in that direction.”
All of Attack on Titan Anime moments are so shocking, but lets just mention the one where The Titans break through the outermost wall into Eren’s district, and Eren does what any kid would do in the event of chaos, he runs to his house to find his mother.
When he gets there, she’s trapped under a wooden beam and there’s nothing he can do to save her.
A soldier comes along and Eren’s mom implores him to take the children to safety as a Titan approaches.
In his fear, the soldier listens and escapes with the children, throwing Eren over his shoulder and forcing the child to watch as this Titan clears the debris with ease, lifts his mother like an insect, and eats her without any remorse.
It’s said that the initial human fear is to die.
It’s painful to watch any death, especially that of a loved one.
So, if this scene doesn’t make your skin crawl, you might not even be a human.
10. This Bullet Is For A Vampire Hellsing
“It’s time someone put you in your place, Human.”
The soundtrack is the real winner of this scene… and the show in general.
The funky, rock and roll, jazz score is a true masterpiece creation of composer, Yasushi Ishii.
They created Many of the songs after the animation to sync perfectly with the action and drama occurring within the scenes.
Alucard and Anderson face off for the first time and it seems as if Alucard’s met his match.
After a few choice words between the two warriors, the music and editing enter a sort of dance that can only be described as perfection as Alucard and Anderson tee off against one another.
