this list is made because its obvious that all anime fans watch every single popular/famous/well-ranked anime series!

But, keep in mind that not all unknown underrated anime series are buried due to their bad setting, animation, not good or not well-made.

Because, the truth is that sometimes, they just airs in an inaccurate time, as they comes out in a season full of the big titles, or simply been released without no pre-promotions, or teasers.

So, here we are! looking and giving you the 16 underrated action anime series that we think they should gets your attention!


16. BlazBlue: Alter Memory

Lets start our underrated top list with this action fantasy anime that i think it’s a shame that it didnt got much attention from anime fans.

Blazblue is originally a Japanese fighting video game that gets an anime adaptation which its story is set in December of 2199, when the roads are full of people waiting for the end of the year and the beginning of a new one.

During the celebrations, word spreads that Ragna the Bloodedge, an SS-class rebel with the highest ever bounty on his head, has appeared in the 13th Hierarchical City of Kagutsuchi.

Hence, The obvious goal of Ragna is to demolish the system controlling the world.

Therefore, To Stop ragna and pile the bounty up, a diverse group of unrivaled fighters meets up at the city of Kagutsuchi.

15. Aoki Hagane no Arpeggio: Ars Nova

Coming at no. 9 is Aoki Hagane no Arpeggio, another underrated good anime to watch, which i think you probably thank me later for such a recommendation.

The story is set in 2039, where the rise in the average temperature of the Earth had caused sea levels to rise and multiple  territories to vanish.

so to make the matter worse, a mysterious group of warships are placed in every corner of the ocean, and starts attacking human ships.

Despite the struggle of humans in confronting the Mist’s overwhelming force.

All of humanity’s trade routes were blockaded, and the economy was destroyed, and the human race was steadily beaten down.

Hence, Seven years later, a Humanoid called Gunzo Chihaya will appears and offers his service to help mankind instead of being an ally to the  the Fleet of Mist’s submarine.

14. Asura Cryin’

The Story of this underrated anime series follows the story of Natsume Tomoharu, a normal high-school student but with one exception:

He’s being followed by the ghost of his best friend, Misao!

Tomoharu Moves into his brother’s old house, expecting that he will continue living his normal life.

But, one day he stumbles upon a mysterious and locked bag without any instruction.

At first he just wanted to leave it in storage; nevertheless, his home is soon invaded by various groups of people looking for the bag.

Although, he don’t really know the purpose or the value of the bag, Tomoharu and Misao try to run away with it.

Hence, From there on, Tomoharu seek to uncover the mysteries behind the bag, the link between it and Misao, and why it has the power to change the world.

13. Akiba’s Trip The Animation

Here is Another great yet underrated anime series that depicts the story of Tamotsu and Niwaka Denkigai, who are doing their shopping in Akihabara when it is overrun by vampiric cosplaying monsters!

These creatures, known as “Bugged Ones,” can possess anyone they bite and soon they begin causing mayhem across the city.

So, As Tamotsu finds himself facing one of these creatures, he is saved by the mysterious baseball bat-wielding Matome Mayonaka.

Hence, Together, they will face so many encounters with the Bugged Ones, but before long, Tamotsu is fatally wounded protecting Matome.

With no other choice, she resurrect him as a high level Bugged One—just like her!

12. Air Gear

Air Gear is One of my favorite underrated anime of all time, it really worth watching as soon as you finish reading this list.

The Story focus on Minami Itsuki, who never thought about seriously riding Air Treck motorized roller blades, until he got his butt handed to him by a street gang of Storm Riders.

That day, In a locked up room, He stumble supon a pair of AT’s and a box of stickers belonging to the Sleeping Forest street gang.

from that time on, One thing leads to another, and Ikki learn the wheels, failure and success.

Tha anime is set in a world that does change and humans that does not change.

At a time where reality and fantasy are crossing, the rendezvous of these two make the gears of fate move!

11. A.I.C.O.: Incarnation

Aiko Tachibana is going under usual medical surveillance after her life being saved from the Matter.

Why is she never injured, and why does she suddenly no longer need her wheelchair?

He claims that there is more to her existence than she has been led to believe, and that she alone holds the key to ending The Burst.

With many factions now interested in Aiko, she and Yuuya must gather allies and embark on a dangerous adventure into the heart of the infested gorge before the net can close around them.

To escape the conspiracy moving against them, the pair must face off against the Matter—an enemy that flows like water.

However, the surgeon that saves his life, turns out to be not just an ordinary doctor, as he commands a strike team known as Black Label whose mission is to put an end to the deadly criminals who have fallen too far.

Hence, Filled with a new determination, Arashi joins the ranks of the vigilante team.
