Today, January 6, 2025, marks the release of the February issue of Monthly Princess by Akita Shoten, featuring the debut of “Saint Mariya,” a new shōjo manga series by Seira Shimotsuki.
“Saint Mariya” is a spin-off of Masami Kurumada’s renowned “Saint Seiya” series. The story introduces Mariya Tachibana, a compassionate high school girl who can’t ignore those in need. On the day of her school’s opening ceremony, an unusual incident unfolds in the auditorium following a student’s harp performance, setting the stage for the narrative. Both Mariya and Seiya are prominently featured on the magazine’s cover.
This issue also commemorates the 50th anniversary of Monthly Princess. As part of the celebration, readers will find an exclusive illustration board from Yasuko Aoike’s classic series “From Eroica With Love.” Additionally, the magazine includes a Q&A session with Aoike, offering insights into her work and creative process.
