A special video, along with visuals for the upcoming third season of the anime adaptation of the Shinkansen Henkei Robo Shinkalion franchise, titled Shinkalion: Change the World has been released. We have Taisei Taisei, who’s a big train enthusiast, Folden Akane, a sports elite family’s second son, and Ryota Kuzuryu, the cheerful mood maker from the railway club. The anime revolves around Shinkalion, a high-tech train developed by the Super Evolutionary Railway Development Organization (ERDA) to battle against the Unknown, mysterious enemies appearing in different parts of Japan.
The Shinkalion comes in different forms like E5 Hayabusa, E6 Komachi, and E7 Kagayaki, each inspired by actual work vehicles. There are also three combined forms called Shinkalion E5 Hayabusa Trailer Form, Shinkalion E6 Komachi Top Lifter Form, and Shinkalion E7 Shinkalion Drill Form. The anime is produced by Signal.MD and Production I.G.
Shinkansen Henkei Robo Shinkalion, which translates to Transforming Bullet Train Robot Shinkalion, is a Japanese toy series created by Takara Tomy in collaboration with the Japan Railways Group. It’s part of the Plarail model train franchise and was first introduced on March 16, 2015. The franchise expanded into an anime, with the first series airing from January 2018 to June 2019, followed by a second series called Shinkansen Henkei Robo Shinkalion Z, which aired from April 2021 to March 2022 on TV Tokyo. Now, a third anime titled Shinkalion: Change the World, which we are talking about, is in the works, and it will be produced by Signal.MD and Production I.G.
The story revolves around monster attacks by a group called Kitoralsus, triggered by the appearance of the mysterious Black Shinkansen. In response, a secret organization, the Shinkansen Ultra Evolution Institute, was formed to investigate the Black Shinkansen and its connection to the attacks. They use Shinkalions, bullet trains that transform into giant robots, to combat the threat. Hayato Hayasugi, a young railfan, accidentally gets involved in one of the attacks and discovers his father’s involvement with the Shinkansen Ultra Evolution Institute. Despite initial concerns about having children as drivers, Hayato, with his natural talent as a Shinkalion driver, joins other kids in using the giant robots to protect against the Kitoralsus threat.
