The official website recently announced an exciting update: they’re transforming Mobile Suit Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Urdr-Hunt into a standalone anime series. This new show is a spinoff of the popular Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans TV series. What’s even more thrilling is that “Mobile Suit Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans urdr Hunt,” previously a mobile game available on the “Mobile Suit Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans G” app, will now be adapted into an anime film. They’ve also released a special preview video to generate anticipation among fans. The precise format of this upcoming anime remains shrouded in mystery, but rest assured, it’s on the way!

The original Mobile Suit Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Uruz Hunt or Urdr-Hunt started off as a mobile game with animated segments telling the storyline. These animated portions featured the involvement of significant staff members from the Iron-Blooded Orphans series, including the director Tatsuyuki Nagai, scriptwriter Hajime Kamoshida (now the series composer), original character designer Yuu Itou, character designer Michinori Chiba, music composer Masaru Yokoyama, and the background art studio Kusanagi. Mechanical designers Naohiro Washio, Kanetake Ebikawa, Ippei Gyōbu, and Kenji Teraoka also contributed.

On a related note, the Iron-Blooded Orphans G app is scheduled to cease operations on January 11, 2024. So, fans of the game will have something to look forward to even after the app’s closure.

In 2019, Sunrise and Bandai Namco Entertainment announced the Kidō Senshi Gundam: Tekketsu no Orphans: Urdr-Hunt spinoff, which became part of the “Kidō Senshi Gundam: Tekketsu no Orphans G” app last year. This app combines anime and gaming elements, offering the original anime along with “Kidō Senshi Gundam: Tekketsu no Orphans: Urdr-Hunt.”

The app was launched in November 2022 and is scheduled to end its services on January 11, with the final part of the 12th “Urdr-Hunt” episode released within the app on October 14.

The TV anime’s first season premiered in 2015, followed by the second season in 2016. It was available on platforms like Daisuki, Gundam.info, Hulu, and Crunchyroll, with both seasons receiving English dubs. Toonami began airing the first season with an English dub in June 2016 and introduced the second season in October 2017.

Now, let’s take a look at the plot of Urdr-Hunt. The story unfolds in the year P.D. 323 and centers around the aftermath of Gjallarhorn’s political interference in Arbrau, which led to an armed conflict resolved with the help of Tekkadan. Word of Tekkadan’s heroic exploits has even reached the ears of Wistario Afam, a young man hailing from the Radonitsa Colony near Venus. Venus, once defeated by Mars in the race for colony development, now serves as a remote planet, functioning as a penal colony for lawbreakers, with its inhabitants lacking proper identification.

Wistario, driven by the desire to alter the fate of his homeland, crosses paths with a girl who identifies herself as the guide for the “Urdr-Hunt.” It’s a captivating premise set in a distinctive and challenging world.
