The anime Shinmai Ossan Boukensha, Saikyou Party ni Shinu hodo Kitaerareta Muteki ni Naru is set to air in July 2024. You can catch it on TV Tokyo, MBS, and BS TV Tokyo. Plus, they’ve just released the key visual and the first PV.
The Shinmai Ossan Boukensha (The Rookie Middle-Aged Adventurer) anime adaptation was announced on March 31, 2023. It’s set to be produced by Yumeta Company and directed by Shin Katagai. The scripts will be penned by Kasumi Tsuchida, while character designs are handled by Mari Eguchi, and the music will be composed by Tomotaka Ōsumi.
The cast includes characters like Rick Gladiator, voiced by Takuya Satō, Reanette Elfelt played by Saori Ōnishi, Broughston Ashorc voiced by Kenta Miyake, Mizett Eldwarf by Toshiyuki Toyonaga, Alicerette Draqul by Misaki Kuno, Angelica Diarmuit by Shino Shimoji, Raster Diarmuit by Ryōhei Kimura, and Freed Diarmuit by Shinnosuke Tokudome.

The story of Shinmai Ossan Boukensha goes like this: Most people think it’s best to start adventuring when you’re young, so your magical power can grow stronger. But Rick Gladiator became an adventurer at over thirty years old and still has the strength of an S-rank adventurer, the highest rank there is. He’s had an incredible life with the Orihalcon Fist, a group of the strongest adventurers on the continent. Thanks to his mentors, who were literal monsters, Rick can defeat elite adventurers who underestimate him, from dragons to vampires.
Shinmai Ossan Bōkensha, Saikyō Party ni Shinu Hodo Kitaerarete Muteki ni Naru is a Japanese fantasy light novel series. It’s written by Kiraku Kishima and illustrated by Tea.
The story first appeared online on a website called Shōsetsuka ni Narō, and later moved to Kakuyomu in June 2018. Hobby Japan picked it up and has released thirteen volumes under their HJ Novels imprint since December 2018.
There’s also a manga adaptation with art by Ken Ogino, serialized online via Hobby Japan’s Comic Fire website since November 2019. It’s been collected into eight tankōbon volumes so far.
