Okitsura Anime Blu-ray Release in May and July with Exclusive Okinawan Dialect Stickers Bonus

The anime series Okitsura: Fell in Love with an Okinawan Girl, but I Just Wish I Know What She’s Saying is set to release its Blu-ray volumes in May and July 2025. The first volume will be available on May 9, followed by the second volume on July 2. Each volume will include exclusive Okinawan dialect stickers as a bonus.

Okitsura, which is known in japanese as Okinawa de Suki ni Natta Ko ga Hougen Sugite Tsurasugiru is a romantic comedy that follows Teruaki Nakamura, a student who transfers from Tokyo to Okinawa. He falls for Hina Kyan, a girl whose Okinawan dialect he struggles to understand. The series explores their relationship and the cultural nuances of Okinawan language and life.

The anime adaptation premiered on January 5, 2025, and is available for streaming on Crunchyroll. The opening theme, “Dai Dai Daisuki” by the Okinawan band HY, sets the tone for the series. Each episode features a different ending theme, with covers of Okinawan songs performed by the voice actresses Akari Kitō and Fairouz Ai, who portray Hina and Kana, respectively.

The Blu-ray editions will feature a three-sided case adorned with original illustrations by Sora Egumi, the manga’s creator. The inner jacket will also showcase unique artwork from the anime. Audio commentary will be included as an extra feature. Volume 1 will offer the opening video without subtitles and a collection of promotional videos, while Volume 2 will provide the ending video without subtitles. Additional bonuses include a booklet, a large postcard, and the aforementioned Okinawan dialect stickers.
