The team of the anime series Mf Ghost have officially announced that there will be a second season! The release date is confirmed for 2024. This news was shared through a new teaser PV that came out right after the last episode of MF Ghost first season.
The anime adaptation of MF Ghost series was first revealed on January 4, 2022. It’s made by Felix Film, directed by Tomohito Naka, with Kenichi Yamashita overseeing scripts, Akihiko Inari co-writing, Naoyuki Onda creating characters, and Akio Dobashi handling the music. The show ran from October 2 to December 18, 2023, on Tokyo MX and other networks. Yu Serizawa sang the opening theme “Jungle Fire” featuring Motsu, and Himika Akaneya performed the ending theme “Stereo Sunset.” Medialink holds the license for the Asia-Pacific region, and Crunchyroll has it for the rest of the world. After the twelfth episode, they announced a second season, set to premiere in 2024.
Mf Ghost is an anime all about cars, set in the late 2020s to early 2030s. Imagine a world where self-driving electric cars are everywhere, but in Japan, there’s a big group called MFG led by Ryosuke Takahashi (from Initial D). They’re into street racing with old-style cars that run on gas. A new guy named Kanata Rivington, going by Kanata Katagiri, is making waves. He’s a 19-year-old Japanese-British dude driving a Toyota 86, beating fancy European cars like Lamborghini, Ferrari, and more. Trained by legendary racer Takumi Fujiwara, Kanata is a Formula 4 world champion on a mission to find his dad.
Shuichi Shigeno wrote and drew the MF Ghost manga. It started in Weekly Young Magazine on September 4, 2017, and it’s connected to Shigeno’s previous work, Initial D. Shigeno said in October 2018 that the manga was about 1/5 done. Unfortunately, in November 2022, it went on a break because Shigeno wasn’t feeling well. It came back on February 20, 2023, went on break again on April 18, and was announced to be in its “final battle.” The series returned on June 19, 2023. Kodansha turned the chapters into tankōbon volumes, with the first one out on January 5, 2018. By October 5, 2023, they’d released 18 volumes. Kodansha USA and Comixology started publishing the manga digitally on January 11, 2022, and it joined Kodansha’s K Manga online platform in May 2023.
All i can say is that MF Ghost is one of the top racing animes ever. It’s got it all – interesting characters, drama, the business side of racing, and more. While I think it’s a good show, it also strikes many fans as particularly amazing. Nevertheless,we are looking forward to the second season.
