The much-anticipated 27th Detective Conan 100-man Dollar no Michishirube movie, or Detective Conan Hyaku-man Dollar no Michishirube, is officially scheduled to hit Japanese theaters on April 12, 2024. Gosho Aoyama, the creator, crafted a new teaser visual that unfolds the story in Hakodate, Hokkaido, showcasing the iconic Goryokaku. In this visual, Heiji Hattori and Kazuha Toyama take the spotlight, exchanging blushes at each other, while Kaito Kid, Conan’s rival, confidently smiles in the background. Additionally, Momiji Ooka, introduced as Heiji’s fiancée in the 2017 film, is also featured in the lower left corner of the visual.
To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Detective Conan in 2024, a special event, the “30th Anniversary Great Detective Series, will take place at Ikebukuro Sunshine City, Tokyo, from January 12th to February 25th, 2024. Additionally, a “Conan Exhibition” is planned to tour the country after its initial run in Tokyo.
The staff for the upcoming Conan movie of 2024, which is set in Hakodate, and includes Director Chika Nagaoka, Scriptwriter Takahiro Ookura, Music Composer Yugo Kanno, and Animation Production by TMS Entertainment. Case Closed, or Detective Conan, is a Japanese detective manga created by Gosho Aoyama. The series has been published in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine since January 1994. It has 104 tankobon volumes as of October 2023, collecting all its chapters.
The anime version of Case Closed is produced by Yomiuri Telecasting Corporation and TMS Entertainment. It premiered on January 8, 1996, and has aired over 1100 episodes in Japan, making it the fifteenth longest anime series. There are 25 feature films based on the series, animated by TMS Entertainment and produced by various companies. The films are directed by different individuals, and they have been released in April each year since 1997. The most recent film, Detective Conan: Black Iron Submarine, was released on April 14, 2023. The Detective Conan movie titled 100-man Dollar no Michishirube for 2024 now has a confirmed release date: it is set to premiere on April 12.
These films have been highly successful, ranking among the top twenty grossing anime films in Japan from the second film onward. The revenue generated from these films has supported other projects by Toho. Additionally, each film has been adapted into two film comics released later in the same year. Funimation released English dubbed versions of the first six films on Region 1 DVDs between October 3, 2006, and February 16, 2010. Bang Zoom! Entertainment has continued to release English dubs of Case Closed films through Discotek Media, starting with the Episode One TV special on July 28, 2020.
