Inspired by the original work created by Yamada Kanehito and Abe Tsukasa, the TV anime Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End (Sousou no Frieren) is set to run for two consecutive cours. Madhouse is producing it, and Keiichirō Saitō is directing. The scripts are supervised by Tomohiro Suzuki, character designs are by Reiko Nagasawa, and Evan Call is the music composer. The opening theme song, Yūsha (Hero), is performed by Yoasobi, while Milet sings the ending theme song “Anytime Anywhere.” Milet also performs the first episode’s ending theme song Bliss.
Crunchyroll has licensed the series outside of Asia, and Muse Communication has licensed it in Southeast Asia.
The show revolves around the hero’s party—Himmel, the priest Heiter, the dwarf warrior Eisen, and the elven mage Frieren—on their decade-long quest to defeat the Demon King. They forge bonds through adventures, creating unforgettable memories. However, Frieren, with a life spanning over a thousand years, spends only a fraction of it with her comrades. After the party disbands, she casually returns to collecting spells across the continent. Over time, Frieren realizes the profound impact her days in the hero’s party had on her. Witnessing the deaths of two former companions, she regrets taking their presence for granted. Now, she vows to better understand humans and form real connections. Although the once memorable journey has ended, a new tale is about to begin.
