Snack Basue Anime Release Date Set for January 12, PV, Visual, and Cast Announcement

The Snack Basue official X account confirms that the release date of Snack Basue anime series will start on January 12, 2024, on Tokyo MX and other channels. The opening song is “Ura Omote Aquarium” by Otonari featuring Ririko and Ryōhei Sataka. The manga was first announced to get an anime adaptation in June 2023.

It’s now confirmed as a TV series animated by Studio Puyukai, directed by Minoru Ashina, who is also handling the scripts and supervision. Tomiyama is the character designer and chief animation director, Jun’ichi Ōkubo as the photography director, Fumiyuki Go as the sound director, and Yuji Furuya for sound effects. Shōta Kowashi is composing the music, and Pony Canyon is in charge of music production.

The anime series Snack Basue features a lively cast of characters, each voiced by iconic voice actors. Akemi, voiced by Rie Takahashi, sets the stage alongside characters like Basue, voiced by Kimiko Saito, Yamada voiced by Yōhei Azakami, and others. The diverse and vibrant cast includes Tatsu, Morita, Kazama, Kosame, Tomiki, Kawa-chan, and the Hero, each voiced by artists such as Fukushi Ochiai, Ryōta Iwasaki, Jun Fukushima, Yume Miyamoto, Jun Kasama, Daiki Hamano, and Ryōsuke Takahashi.

The storyline of this comedy seinen anime revolves around a lively shop named “Snack Bus,” situated just five stations away from Susukino, Hokkaido’s largest downtown area. The establishment is managed by the warm and welcoming mamas, Basue and Akemi. The atmosphere is always buzzing with the laughter of the girls and the unique regular customers, making it a delightful place to be.

The Snack Basue anime is adapted from the manga of the same name, created by Forbidden Shibukawa. The manga, which began serialization in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump on July 13, 2017, is both written and illustrated by Shibukawa. Shueisha has compiled the series into individual tankōbon volumes, with the first volume hitting the shelves on February 19, 2018. Currently, as of June 19, 2023, a total of thirteen volumes have been released.
