Mr. Villain’s Day Off Anime New Trailer Showcases Release Date and Theme Songs

On Friday, a new trailer dropped for the anime series adaptation of “Mr. Villain’s Day Off,” featuring the opening and ending songs. The opening theme, “Yūho” (meaning “Walk”), is performed by Ivudot, and the ending theme, “Kyūsoku Jūden” (meaning “Relaxation Charging”), is performed by Glasgow. The promo video also unveiled the show’s release date on January 7, 2024, airing on TV Tokyo and other networks.

The news of Mr. Villain’s Day Off getting an anime was revealed on February 24, 2023. Produced by Shin-Ei Animation and SynergySP, the series is directed by Yoshinori Odaka, with scripts supervised by Midori Gotō, character designs by Tomomi Shimazaki, and music composed by Nobuaki Nobusawa.

Yuu Morikawa wrote and drew Mr. Villain’s Day Off, and it started appearing on the Pixiv website on December 15, 2018. Square Enix has released five tankōbon volumes under its Gangan Comics Pixiv imprint as of April 2023. There’s also a drama CD adaptation from Frontier Works released on January 27, 2021. You can read the series digitally in English on Square Enix’s Manga Up! website worldwide. In March 2023, Square Enix Manga & Books shared that they got the license for print publication, and the first volume is set to come out on August 15 of the same year.

Kyuujitsu no Warumono-san Mr. Villain's Day Off

This comedy anime adaptation is set to premiere in winter 2024, featuring the story of the General, a member of a malevolent organization tasked with invading Earth and wiping out humanity. Even extraterrestrial beings need a break, and the General seizes the opportunity to enjoy a day off. Not even the Rangers, dedicated to defeating the General, can stop him from visiting pandas at the zoo, buying ice cream, and savoring his well-deserved break from villainous deeds.

In the upcoming Mr. Villain’s Day Off anime, there will be a bunch of cool characters like Warumono-san voiced by Kenjiro Tsuda and Shintarō Asanuma, Akatsuki Red played by Kōhei Amasaki and Hiiro Ishibashi, Sora voiced by Chinami Hashimoto and Hibiku Yamamura, Mugi portrayed by Minami Takahashi and Hibiku Yamamura, Rooney played by Takuma Terashima and Soma Saito, Trigger voiced by Yuichi Nakamura, Sōten Blue portrayed by Takuya Eguchi, Shinonoe Pink played by Ai Kakuma, and Yoiyami Black portrayed by Yūichirō Umehara.
