The website for the Kingdom anime just released a brand new teaser video for the upcoming season 5! This PV gives us a sneak peek at what is coming for the first time, showing the Qin army led by Huanki. This anime is popular and is based on Yasuhisa Hara’s awesome manga.
Kingdom season 5 will start airing on NHK General at midnight on January 6, 2024. The story unfolds with a battle happening at Black Sheep Hill, a natural stronghold in the Zhao state. This place is crucial for the Qin state’s plan to unite China. The preview video shows Kanki, who’s been told by the general to capture Black Sheep Hill, ready to use harsh methods to win. It also introduces his tough group of outlaws and the Hishin Corps, an active fighting force supporting him.

Kingdom is a Japanese manga created by Yasuhisa Hara. It’s been published in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump magazine since January 2006, and there are 70 volumes available as of November 2023. The story, set in the Warring States period, follows Xin, a war orphan, and his friends as they strive for greatness. Xin aims to become the top general and unite China after 500 years.
The manga was turned into an anime by studio Pierrot, with four seasons so far. The first season aired from June 2012 to February 2013, the second from June 2013 to March 2014, the third from April 2020 to October 2021, and the fourth from April to October 2022. Kingdom’s fifth season is scheduled for January 2024. There’s also a live-action film released in April 2019, a sequel in July 2022, and a third film in July 2023. Crunchyroll has the English license for the anime.
As of November 2023, Kingdom had over 100 million copies in circulation, making it a hugely popular manga. In 2013, it won the Grand Prize at the Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize.
