Shin-Chan, Monster, Digimon: The Movies – Collection 2 and More Discotek Licenses Announced at Otakon 2025
Discotek Media unveiled a new lineup of upcoming Blu-ray and SD-BD releases during their official Discotek Media Industry Extravaganza panel at Otakon 2025. The announcements, revealed both at the panel and via livestream, forecast an exciting slate of anime, tokusatsu, and film titles for collectors and fans alike. Among the key highlights were new releases of fan-favorite titles such as Shin-Chan, Monster, and Digimon: The Movies – Collection 2. All releases include official audio tracks with English subtitles or dubs, and many feature remastered visuals and exclusive bonus content.
Shin-Chan: Funimation Version SD-BD Set
Discotek Media will release a two-disc SD-BD set of the Funimation-adapted version of Shin-Chan. This version encompasses all 78 episodes dubbed by Funimation and includes special extras such as outtakes from the English voice cast. Shin-Chan, originally created by Yoshito Usui, has been broadcast in various forms globally and is known for its offbeat humor. The upcoming Blu-ray is scheduled for release on October 28, 2025.
Monster: Complete Blu-ray Collection
Based on the critically acclaimed manga by Naoki Urasawa, the 2004 anime Monster is set to receive a complete 74-episode Blu-ray release. Produced by Madhouse and directed by Masayuki Kojima, this highly praised psychological thriller will be presented in both its original Japanese with English subtitles and an English dub. The Blu-ray collection is currently scheduled for release in 2026.
Digimon: The Movies – Collection 2

This landmark 1979 film will include three English dubs, the original Japanese audio track with subtitles, and bonus materials such as trailers, commentaries, liner notes, and more. The release will be available exclusively through the Crunchyroll Store.
Golden Boy: Remastered Blu-ray
Discotek will re-release the cult classic Golden Boy, a six-episode OVA series from 1995–1996, in upscale Blu-ray format. Originally animated by APPP and known for its comedic adult themes, this remastered set features the original Japanese audio and English dub. A new commentary by Doug Smith, the English voice of protagonist Kintaro Oe, is included as a bonus feature.
Kamen Rider Tokusatsu Titles
As part of their expanding tokusatsu library, Discotek announced multiple Blu-ray releases of classic Kamen Rider series:
- Kamen Rider Amazon – 24 episodes across two discs, includes interviews with actors Toru Okazaki and Yoji Matsuda. Release date: October 28, 2025.
