Creepy Nuts Shares Call of the Night Season 2 Anime Ending Song Collab Music Video

Japanese hip-hop duo Creepy Nuts has unveiled a new music video for “Nemure” (“Go to Sleep”), the official ending theme of Call of the Night Season 2. The collaboration video was recently released via the duo’s official YouTube channel, continuing their involvement with the ongoing anime adaptation of Kotoyama’s popular manga series.

Call of the Night Season 2 Ending Theme: “Nemure”

The “Nemure” music video follows the release of the earlier opening theme music video “Mirage” and serves as a companion video capturing the atmosphere and emotional depth of the anime’s second season. The video incorporates visual clips from both Season 1 and Season 2 of Call of the Night, carefully synchronized to reflect the story’s nocturnal ambiance and the relationships between its characters.

The music emphasizes themes of intimacy, introspection, and the mystery of the night—aligning closely with the series’ tone. It also showcases Creepy Nuts’ signature blend of introspective hip-hop and atmospheric soundscapes.

Creepy Nuts’ Ongoing Musical Partnership with Call of the Night

This marks yet another collaboration between Creepy Nuts and the Call of the Night anime production team. They have provided music for the anime since its inaugural season in 2022, starting with the season 1 opening theme “Daten”, the ending theme “Yofukashi no Uta”, and the insert song “Lost Time”. The musical partnership brings a consistent auditory identity to the series, enhancing its portrayal of adolescent loneliness and the supernatural pull of nightlife.

A new CD single titled “Mirage / Nemure”, featuring both the Season 2 opening and ending themes, is scheduled for release in Japan on September 10, 2025. The limited edition will include exclusive cover art illustrated by Kotoyama—creator of the original manga and the illustrator behind several previous key visuals for the anime adaptation, including the “Daten” single.

Production Details: Studio, Staff, and Cast

Season 2 of Call of the Night is directed by Tomoyuki Itamura and produced by LIDEN FILMS, a studio known for titles like “Tokyo Revengers” and “Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches.” Itamura returns to direct the sequel, following his work on the anime’s first season, ensuring visual and tonal continuity.

The scripting is handled by Michiko Yokote, whose extensive anime screenwriting experience includes work on “Shirobako,” “Gintama,” and “Bleach.” Character designs are led by Haruka Sagawa, with Yoshiaki Dewa composing the music. The second season also features the addition of Izumi Takizawa and Nao Miyoshi as assistant directors, supporting the expanded scope of the new episodes.

The anime continues to adapt the original manga by Kotoyama, known for his earlier hit series “Dagashi Kashi.” The manga was serialized in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday from August 2019 until its conclusion in January 2024. The anime closely follows the source material’s blend of supernatural romance and urban exploration, appealing to fans of atmospheric storytelling and unconventional character dynamics.

Voice Cast and Characters

The anime’s main voice cast has remained consistent across both seasons. Gen Sato voices protagonist Ko Yamori, a middle schooler who discovers the secrets of the vampire world during his nocturnal wanderings. Sora Amamiya plays Nazuna Nanakusa, a mysterious vampire who introduces Ko to a life of freedom under the night sky. Their evolving relationship forms the emotional core of the narrative, and both voice actors deliver nuanced performances that capture their characters’ growing complexity.

Call of the Night: Story Synopsis and Manga Availability

According to VIZ Media, the official English-language publisher of the manga, the story begins with Ko Yamori, a boy who finds solace in wandering the city streets after dark. One night, he encounters Nazuna Nanakusa, who invites him to spend time with her in an abandoned building. Their midnight meetings soon deepen into something more profound, although not without complications, particularly when a girl from Ko’s past reenters his life and challenges his choices.

With its distinct mood, visual style, and slow-burning romance, Call of the Night has established itself as a standout in the supernatural romance genre. The new season and its accompanying music further establish its unique identity in the anime landscape.

Confirmed Platforms and Release Information

Call of the Night Season 2 is being simulcast on Crunchyroll, with subtitles available in multiple languages. The streaming platform previously handled the release of Season 1, providing global access to the series as each episode airs in Japan.

The new single “Mirage / Nemure” by Creepy Nuts, which features prominently in both the opening and ending sequences, is distributed through Sony Music Labels. Fans can expect additional promotional materials, including limited-edition artwork and possibly bonus content, as part of the CD release package in September 2025.

The collaboration between Creepy Nuts and Call of the Night continues to elevate the series’ musical and emotional resonance, reflecting the anime’s core themes through a stylistic synergy of animation and sound.
