Here is a new PV for The Bottom-Tier Character Tomozaki 2nd Stage anime, the second season of Yūki Yaku’s light novel series, featuring the opening theme”Easy? Hard? Kakashi Shimotsu! and the ending theme Somebody Nai Kara by DIALOGUE+. The promo video showcases Tomozaki’s efforts in the school festival executive committee and his unease about Aoi’s task of choosing a date.
The anime is an adaptation of a manga by Eight Chida that was serialized in Square Enix’s Monthly Gangan Joker, running from December 22, 2017, to February 22, 2021. It is digitally licensed in North America by Comikey. Another spin-off manga titled “Minami Nanami Wants to Shine,” illustrated by Bana Yoshida, concluded on January 19, 2023, focusing on the character Minami Nanami. This spin-off is also licensed in English by Yen Press.
The anime adaptation of Jaku-Chara Tomozaki-kun, known as Bottom-Tier Character Tomozaki, was announced on October 11, 2019, by Yūki Yaku and Gagaga Bunko. It was later confirmed as a TV series on March 21, 2020. This romance school anime series, is created by Project No.9 and directed by Shinsuke Yanagi, aired from January 8 to March 26, 2021, with 12 episodes. Dialogue+ performed both the opening theme, Life Easy?, and the ending theme, Ayafuwa Asterisk. Funimation licensed the series outside of Asia and streamed it in various regions, later announcing an English dub. After Sony’s acquisition of Crunchyroll, the series moved to Crunchyroll. Children’s Playground Entertainment licensed the series in Southeast Asia.
On January 14, 2022, a new anime project, Bottom-tier Character Tomozaki 2nd Stage, was announced. It’s a confirmed 13-episode second season, featuring the original cast and staff. The second season of Bottom-tier Character Tomozaki release date is set for January 3, 2024, with the opening theme Easy? Hard? But Let’s Move On!, and the ending theme Because It’s Not Someone, both again performed by Dialogue+.
The story follows Fumiya Tomozaki, the best player in the online game Attack Families (Tackfam), struggles with social skills in his everyday high school life. Despite his gaming prowess, he lacks friends and blames life’s complex rules, labeling himself a bottom-tier character. A chance encounter reveals that Aoi Hinami, a popular classmate, is the top-tier Tackfam player. Aoi, surprised by Fumiya’s social ineptitude, decides to help him succeed in life, which she considers the ultimate game. As Fumiya navigates social challenges, he levels up in the grand game of life.
