Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian, or Roshidere for short, is a Japanese light novel series created by SunSunSun and Momoco. It originally began as two short stories published online from May 6 to May 27, 2020, on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō novel website. Later, Kadokawa Shoten acquired the series, and they’ve published seven volumes and a short story volume since February 2021 under the Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko label. Furthermore, a manga adaptation by Saho Tenamachi started in October 2022 on Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket website and app. Now, an anime TV series adaptation produced by Doga Kobo is confirmed to debut in April 2024. Alongside this announcement, they also unveiled the first key visual for the show.
The story of Roshidere is about a high school girl named Alisa, but everyone calls her Alya. She has stunning silver hair and gets a lot of attention because she’s so pretty. Alya sits next to Masachika, who’s a student that doesn’t seem very interested in school and often falls asleep. Alya sometimes talks about Masachika in a teasing way in her Russian language, but she doesn’t know that Masachika actually understands what she’s saying.
